Assault, uttering threats, and mischief

A husband and wife woke up in the middle of the night. When they looked outside, they saw our client standing at their car, apparently leaning into the vehicle. The husband ran outside to confront our client. The windows had been smashed. The husband accused our client of having stolen his wallet from their car. Our client gave the husband his own wallet as proof that he had not stolen anything. The husband walked back to the car with our client's wallet. According to the husband, our client then chased him around the block, threatening to kill him. By the time the police arrived, our client was gone, but the husband still had our client's wallet.

Our client was charged with assault, uttering threats, and mischief. After reviewing the evidence closely with the prosecutor and telling them more about what kind of person our client really is and what difficulties he was facing on the night in question, the prosecutor agreed that this case could be resolved without any findings of guilt.

RESULT: The charges against our client were withdrawn and our client entered into a peace bond, which only required him to stay away from the complainants' home.
